2014 Nurse of the Year Finalists from Oregon and SW Washington

With 430 nurses nominated, 188 finalists remain for the fourth annual 2014 Nurse of the Year Awards. This event will honor outstanding Oregon and SW Washington nurses for their constant care and compassion toward patients. Eighteen nurses will be awarded Nurse of the Year; one in each of 17 categories plus one Distinguished Nurse of the Year.

The finalists come from across the region: 22 live in SW Washington, 120 are from the greater Portland area, 12 from the Gorge area, five from the Salem area, eight from Lane County, 13 from North Coast, five from the Bend area, and three from Southern Oregon.

Award winners will be announced at the Nurse of the Year Awards on Friday, October 24, 2014, at the Sentinel Hotel in Portland. Kevin Carroll, author of “Rules of the Red Rubber Ball,” will be the keynote speaker; Katherine J. Bradley, PhD, RN, from the Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing will share the connection between March of Dimes and the nursing profession. Local media personality Tara Dublin will emcee.
