SUMMARY:Love Street Playhouse Presents: Small Potatoes
DESCRIPTION:SMALL POTATOES \nPlaying at Love Street Playhouse \nFebruary 20-March 15\, 2026 \n\nLove Street Playhouse is proud to present the world-premiere drama\, “Small Potatoes” by local playwright David Bareford. A story of Depression-era immigrants striving for the American Dream. Show dates will run from February 20th to March 15th at Love Street Playhouse\, 126 Loves Ave in Woodland\, WA. Single tickets are $26 for sale at www.lovestreetplayhouse.com. \n\nTHE SHOW \n\nIs the cost of chasing your dreams worth sacrificing the people you love? David Bareford’s new drama Small Potatoes explores the tension between ambition and responsibility\, between the allure of “making it big” and the quiet dignity of simply showing up for your family. Cosmo Langtry\, a charismatic dreamer\, returns to his struggling family in Depression-era East Harlem with his latest dream—a radio hat that he’s certain will make them all millionaires. But his long-suffering wife Valentina\, their exhausted daughter Teresa\, and the rest of the family have lived through his schemes before\, each one promising fortune while delivering only absence and broken promises. Small Potatoes weaves humor and heartbreak through the story of immigrants striving for the American Dream\, perhaps showing us that the best dreams aren’t always found in wealth and grand inventions\, but in the people sitting around your dinner table. \n\nBareford’s plays often take their inspiration from historical events\, but the idea that sparked Small Potatoes came from his friendship with Love Street’s managing director\, Lou Pallotta. Like the play’s central character\, Cosmo Langtry\, Pallotta is an Italian New Yorker– “gregarious and charismatic\,” Bareford describes him\, “a man bursting with ideas who draws people in and inspires them.” Then Bareford asked himself a darker question: what happens when chasing a dream goes too far\, even when that dream is worthwhile and well-meaning? What happens when it threatens to cost you the people you love? \n\nTHE CAST \nBareford has assembled a team of Love Street veterans for this powerful production. Starring in Small Potatoes is Lou Pallotta as Cosmo\, Olivia Johnson as Teresa\, Sharon Mann as Valentina\, Kyle Johnson as Gianni\, and Katie McKenzie as Lucia. \n\nTHE CREATIVE TEAM \nThe creative team includes David Bareford (Playwright\, Director); Melinda Pallotta  (Love Street Owner\, Artistic Director\, and Hair and Makeup Design); Lou Pallotta (Love Street Owner\, Managing Director and Set Construction); Mikail Nordquist (Lighting Designer); Lorraine Little (Costume Designer); Michele Glover (Props Designer); Fawzy Simon (Sound Design); and Jayce Fortin (Stage Manager). \n\nTICKETS to Small Potatoes start at $26 and are on sale.
