Think Happy Rally Will Bring 4 Million Smiles and More
October 2 is World Smile Day, the perfect day to begin a 4-week campaign for happiness that will bring 4 million smiles to Portland and Vancouver by the time it’s done, and leave someone $1,000 richer. Like vitamin-infused gummy bears, the 19 big yellow messages in the Think Happy Rally will boost your mood and your immunity while giving you a grin and maybe even a giggle at the same time. And there’s science behind each one.
The second annual Think Happy Rally is a one-of-a-kind rally to encourage positive thinking. It is the first to combine driving, science, positive messages on billboards, the popular selfie, social media and a good old fashioned cash prize. Over the 4-week period, the 19 messages will have a combined impressions rate of roughly 4 million smiles. The rally officially begins on Friday, October 2 and runs through October 25 during Positive Attitude Month.
There are 19 messages altogether: 16 billboards in Portland and 3 billboards in Vancouver. A pdf of the locations can be found at: http://thejoyteam.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/2015-locations.pdf. A Google map of all locations can be found here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zWKfwrjdCSmA.kEIPKwbm9bAg&usp=sharing.
To join the Rally:
1. Go to each sign
2. Take a selfie with the messages (be safe: no climbing on anything)
3. Post them on Facebook.com/thinkHAPPYrally, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ThinkHappyRally
The first 40 people to complete the rally by doing these three things will get a Think Happy Rally t-shirt and bag of goodies with gifts from the message sponsors. Fun prizes will be given out randomly throughout October and everyone who completes the rally by October 25 will be entered into a drawing for one of two grand prizes: $1,000 cash and their name on a Joy Team billboard of their choice in December. Anyone can join the rally and there’s no fee to enter.
The purpose of this event is to cultivate happiness in our community and give people another reason to be intentional about creating a joyful life by choosing thoughts that serve their highest well-being. And to have some fun while they’re at it.
