Vancouver, A Livable Community

Vancouver, A Livable Community

At Vancouver Parks & Recreation, we believe in a livable community. We believe in a safe, happy and healthy community that relies on recreational activities, programs and events for the whole family. It’s why we offer a variety of programs, activities and events for all ages and abilities through the Marshall or Firstenburg Community Centers, the Vancouver Tennis Center and numerous parks throughout Vancouver.

There are very few places where anyone can experience a multitude of opportunities like what our community centers offer. Walking through the Firstenburg Center, you can view toddlers learning to swim, teens climbing up the rock wall, adults lifting weights and seniors engaging in a rigorous game of pinochle. In the Marshall Center teens are spread across the many opportunities in the “teen zone”, adults and seniors are learn how to swing, tango and belly dance in the Leupke Center and toddlers are again, learning how to swim.

In Vancouver parks, you will see people of all ages participating in a variety of recreational activities like running trails, walking their dogs, throwing a Frisbee or just socializing with their friends and family. On the playgrounds, children will pretend the structures are their own personal kingdoms where the possibilities are endless. People of all ages experience parks differently and we value that everyone can coexist within our city parks.

Vancouver is a community of diversity with a wide range of interests and we want to help provide as many activities as possible to fulfill these interests. So come join us, get out of the house and experience all that our community has to offer. It’s going to be a big fun summer in 2014. Don’t believe us? Check out our YouTube video, “A Summer of Fun with Vancouver Parks & Recreation!”

Check back with us throughout the summer for more fun activities.
