Thrifted Treasures: A Guide to Second-Hand Shopping in Clark County

Thrifted Treasures: A Guide to Second-Hand Shopping in Clark County

Have you ever given or received a second-hand gift for the holidays? Second-hand gift shopping has risen in popularity over the years. Buying a second-hand gift may feel extra thoughtful, as well as both environmentally and budget friendly. Shopping for second-hand gifts can require more time and effort than shopping online or at a big-box retailer, so it may feel more meaningful for the receiver. Buying second-hand can also allow you to purchase something that might not normally be within your gift budget or something that would be near-impossible to find otherwise. You have no idea what you’ll find when you go second-hand shopping in Clark County.

Clark County has many second-hand stores that are perfect for gift shopping. As I have visited these stores throughout the area, I have seen many fun, unique and rare items at great deals. A few things I’ve encountered that would make fantastic holiday gifts are:

  • Bags and purses
  • Jewelry
  • Planters
  • Toys and kid’s items (be sure to check for recalls)
  • Books
  • Home or kitchen decor
  • Kitchen items
  • Hobbies like sewing, board games, etc.
  • Bikes
  • Tools

One important thing to note as you visit various second-hand stores in the community is that most, if not all, are owned and operated by local community members. Take extra care in supervising kids inside stores and be sure to keep small hands away from breakable items.

Read on to learn more about some of my favorite second-hand shops for gift-giving. Check their websites to confirm hours as they may change.
