About the event
PDDBM Black History Month Fashion Show
Celebrating Student Creativity, Culture, and Legacy
On Saturday, May 23, 2026, Please Don’t Die Black Men (PDDBM) invites the community to come out and support the very first fashion show of the 2025–2026 PDDBM Fashion Design Afterschool Program students.
This special event will take place from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Generations Church, located at:
14313 NE 20th Ave, Suite A104, Vancouver, WA 98686.
This show marks an important milestone for our middle and high school designers, many of whom will be showcasing their work on a runway for the very first time. These students have spent months learning design fundamentals, developing original concepts, and transforming their ideas into wearable pieces. This event is not just a fashion show—it is a moment of confidence, courage, and creative growth.
In addition to the student runway showcase, attendees will experience two powerful cultural exhibits that honor Black history and excellence:
-
West African Hairstyle Exhibit, highlighting traditional styles and their cultural significance prior to the Transatlantic Slave Trade
-
African American Fashion Designer Museum, celebrating the contributions of Black designers from the 1800s to the present day
This event is a community call to show up for our youth, affirm their talents, and celebrate Black history through creativity, education, and self-expression.
🎟 Tickets are available in advance only at www.pddbm.org/events. No tickets will be sold at the door.
Come celebrate, support, and uplift the next generation of designers as they step onto the runway for the very first time.
