Vancouver Teen Daniel Seavey Serenades the World on “American Idol”

Daniel Seavey loves making people happy. And in his short 16 years, he has already filled millions of people’s hearts with joy through his astonishing musical ability. Daniel’s bright smile and smooth tunes have created quite the buzz, not only locally, but worldwide through his American Idol journey. Music has been a part of Daniel’s life since he was born, but at age four, his family recognized that he had a true gift. He picked up his sister’s toy keyboard and started teaching himself simple songs like “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.” His parents say that he began hearing music in everything and he started playing as many instruments as he could get his hands on. Now, he’s not only proficient in multiple instruments, but he has a unique singing voice that is mature beyond his years. It soothed the ears of millions of viewers each week as he worked his way into the top 9 of the television talent competition, “American Idol.”

The Union High School student auditioned for the show just for fun and was surprised that he kept making it through round after round. His family adjusted their routine to make the experience work for Daniel and he was able to have his family nearby throughout his weeks on the show, filmed in California. His mom proudly shares that her son stayed grounded through his experience with “American Idol” and that his secret was to keep things in perspective through it all.

The “American Idol” experience certainly changed Daniel’s life, and that of his fellow contestants, who he says became as close as family and that he will love them for the rest of his life. I caught up with Daniel to learn more about his thrilling “American Idol” adventure.
